Black Forest Cake


Black Forest Cake is a super delicious cake with cream and cherry layers.Most of the kids will be a great fan of this yummy cake.It is a simple easy cake that can be made more easier by buying a chocolate sponge cake and garnish with whipped cream and cherries.







Ingredients

For Cake


  1. All Purpose Flour (Maida)    - 1/2 cup (50 gms)
  2. Cocoa Powder                     - 1/2 cup (50 gms) 
  3. Powdered Sugar                  - 1 cup 
  4. Butter                                   - 1 cup (100 gms)
  5. Eggs                                     - 6
  6. Vanilla Essence                    - 1 tsp

For Frosting

  1. Heavy Whipping Cream (Double Cream) - 1 pint
  2. Sugar - as needed
  3. Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
  4. Cherries - 1 can
  5. Chocolate Bar - 1 (grated/shaved)

For syrup


  1. Water/ Syrup from cherry can - 1 cup
  2. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  3. Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp

Preparation

For the cake


  1. Sieve together the all purpose flour (maida) and cocoa powder into a bowl.
  2. Beat the butter in a bowl until it becomes very fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs  one by one until it becomes very creamy and frothy.
  4. Mix together all the wet ingredients ( sugar, vanilla essence) along with the beaten butter & eggs.
  5. Finally fold in the dry ingredients (flour + cocoa) with the wet ingredients.
  6. Mix everything nicely with a wooden spoon until you get a smooth batter.
  7. Grease a cake pan with butter and dust some flour and cocoa powder on it and keep it ready.
  8. Pour the cake batter into the pan and bake it in a oven preheated to 350 degree F (180 C) for about 40-45 minutes.
  9. Check if the cake is done by inserting a toothpick in the middle of the cake. It should come out clean.
  10. Switch off the oven and cool the cake before applying the syrup and frosting.

For the syrup

  1. Pour the cherry syrup/plain water into a small sauce pan.
  2. Add the sugar to it and bring it to a boil.
  3. Finally add the vanilla essence to the syrup and keep aside.

For the frosting

  1. Beat the whipping cream with enough sugar and vanilla essence until a nice fluffy frosting is ready.(You could also use frozen whipped cream.)

Final cake assembling

  1. Cut the top to make it flat before applying the frosting.
  2. Cut the cake laterally into 3 equal circles.
  3. Take all the 3 pieces and pierce it with a fork at random places. This will help the syrup to penetrate into the cake.
  4. Add few spoonfuls of the syrup on each cake piece and let the cake absorb it. This step is very very important to make the cake moist and delicious.
  5. Take a cake stand or serving dish and place one piece of cake.
  6. Apply a generous amount of frosting and top it with chopped cherries, chocolate shavings.
  7. Place the second piece of cake on top and apply the frosting and toppings.
  8. Top it with the 3rd slice of cake.
  9. Apple the remaining frosting on top of the cake and on all the sides.
  10. Sprinkle chocolate shavings (grated chocolate bar) and all around the cake.
  11. Top the cake with cherries. 
  12. Yummy black forest cake is ready.

Pineapple Cake

Pineapple Cake is a easy to make delicious cake.You need a basic vanilla cake or sponge cake.Here i am making it with a sponge cake without butter.The cream i added is whipping cream with pineapple essence & tinned pineapple pieces.This is a rich creamy cake, excellent for birthdays,anniversaries & family get togethers.



Ingredients
  1. Eggs                        -  2 nos
  2. vanilla essence        - 1 tsp
  3. Sugar                       - 2 tbsp
  4. Flour                        -  4 tbsp
  5. pineapple essence   - 1 tsp

Preparation


  • Cream the sugar and the eggs together till fluffy, add Vanilla essence and continue to beat.
  • Sieve the Flour
  • Add the flour slowly and fold in till incorporated
  • Pour in a lined tin and bake in a preheated oven at 150 degree centigrade
  • Let the cake cool and then we have to ice the cake
For Icing
  1.  whipping cream   - 300 ml
  2. pineapple diced    -125 g
  3. sugar syrup          - 1/2 cup

  • Slice the cake horizontally into 2 or 3 layers
  • Place the first layer on the board and sprinkle sugar syrup on to moisten the cake
  • Put whipped cream in it and spread
  • Decorate with pineapple pieces
  • Repeat with the next layer and cover with the top layer
  • Spread cream and cover evenly the top and the sides of the cake with cream
  • Decorate with remaining pineapple pieces
  • Chill for min 1hr before serving

Chocolate Truffle cake



Chocolate truffle cake is a rich chocolate cake that can be made very easily.Layers of dark chocolate cake alternate with whipped ganache,then it is coated with a shiny glaze.Kids will love it.Try this one at home.


Ingredients

50 g           Cocoa
100 g Demeirra Sugar
250 ml Boiling water
125 g butter
150 g powder sugar
225 g flour
1/2 tsp        baking powder
1/2 tsp        baking soda
2 tsp vanilla essence
2               eggs

Preparation
  1. in the  pan sieve the cocoa and in the bowl add demeirra sugar and pour boiling water.
  2.  whisk and set aside
  3. sieve the flour,baking soda and baking powder
  4. cream the butter and the powder sugar together till light and fluffy
  5. put one egg at a time beating vigorously and with the second add a little flour
  6. fold in the remaining flour
  7. pour the cocoa mixture in
  8. pour the batter in a greased and lined tin
  9. bake in preheated oven at 180 degree for 50 to 60 ml

Chocolate truffle sauce
       Ingredients
   300g                         Dark chocolate
   200g                       fresh cream
  • Chop the chocolate into small pieces
  • Pour the cream in a heavy bottom pan and place on low heat
  • Add the chocolate pieces slowly till they melt and cool
  • slice the cake horizontally into 2 or 3 slices
  • sprinkle sugar syrup in the different layers
  • put truffle sauce and cover evenly and leave it to chill
  • decorate with chocolate truffle or whipped cream and chill for min 1 hour before serving
